Barcelona Vintage Terrazzo Tiles Study

Small practice in Substance Designer to recreate a terrazzo-style tiled surface with a geometric pattern.

This idea came to me during my first days living in Barcelona, after visiting one of the cafeterias near the apartment where I was staying. I noticed that the city has a strong appreciation for vintage tiles. Their colorful and sometimes complex patterns add a lot of personality to interior spaces, breaking up the monotony of palettes typically dominated by stone walls, terracotta bricks, mortar, and wooden beams, which are so characteristic of the vintage style found in many old town interiors.

The material was created entirely using nodes in Substance Designer and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
